| Conductor | John Lubbock John, who is related to Susan, conducted Music Weekends from 1970. He has made his name since then as the founder and conductor of the Orchestra of St. John's Smith Square. Many of the musicians in the Music Weekend 2001 orchestra play regularly with him. |
| Soloists | Steven Isserlis - cello
Marie Arnet - soprano
Donna Bateman - soprano
Christine Cairns - mezzo soprano
Samir Savant - tenor
Julian Empett - bass
|
| Choir Master and Conductor | Malcolm Goldring Malcolm is Chief Executive of the British Federation of Young Choirs. Although he never came to Tillington Music Weekends he has links with Sussex, and the Evershed family. He draws remarkable performances out of scratch choirs made up of singers of all abilities after a very short rehearsal. |
| Rehearsal Accompanist | Michael Paine |
| The Orchestra | Invited players of a professional standard We first thought that we would use the Orchestra of St John's Smith Square plus a few OMWEs, but we were surprised and delighted by the number of professional or extremely good players on the OMWE list. The orchestra of MWE2001 was therefore made up of invited players - as many as possible of them Old Music Weekenders or members of OMWE's families - with a few other invited players to complete the numbers |
| Leader | Micaela Comberti Micaela Comberti played at Tillington Music Weekends from 1970 to 1973. She now, amongst much else, plays with the Salomon Quartet.
|
| The Choir | Everyone else, more or less.
|
Some Old Music Weekenders, who felt that their musical talents had become too rusty, came to help to make sure the whole thing ran smoothly.
