The Society's emblem

The Newcomen Society

the world's oldest learned society devoted to the history of engineering and technology

Why not come to one of the Society's regular Wednesday evening meetings at the Science Museum in London?

Non-members are welcome to come to hear papers on original research and take part in the discussion on subjects as diverse as steam engines, cathedrals and the preparation of woad. These papers, or Transactions, form a fascinating archive dating back to 1920.
