Consultations
Initial consultation
The purpose of the initial consultation is first to decide whether psychotherapy or counselling would help the client, and then to agree on a course of sessions. If necessary, Patricia can help the client find a more suitable person, such as a psychiatrist, cognitive psychologist or other professional. The initial consultation takes between one and one-and-a half hours, and can usually be arranged to take place within a week.
Further consultations
Further consultations normally last 45 minutes. They will take place regularly over an agreed period, which could be as little as six weeks or more than a year.
