Counselling

Counselling aims to resolve a particular problem and is usually short term. Its purpose is to define the problem, help the client consider various choices and enable him or her to move on. This works particularly well with young people, and most people find that between six and twelve weekly sessions will make a difference.

Counselling can help people through problems such as:

  • difficulties at work
  • problems with childcare
  • specific issues between couples
  • loss or bereavement
  • adjusting to unfamiliar surroundings
