ORATORIO - MUSICAL - RECITAL - WEDDING MUSIC
CHORAL CONCERTS - AUDITIONS and PANTO!

On Sunday 25th November, JUDY BOOTH (alto) MATTHEW RHODES (tenor) and James WIGRAM (bass) were soloists with the St John's Wood Chamber Choir and orchestra in the Christmas music from Handel's Messiah at St John's Wood Church. Director Michael Cayton.

ALICIA BLUNT specialises in music theatre and is taking a leading role in the next production at Imperial College SW7. 3rd/4th December.

Following the success of his solo recital in May (CD available), MATTHEW RHODES is now working on a new programme for a lunchtime recital in the City of London and also plans to give a complete performance of Schubert's song cycle Die Schone Mullerin next year. Enquiries: Mobile 07771 568670.

This autumn MILLY CAMPBELL sang at two weddings, Ave Maria - Bach/Gounod at one and Schubert's Ave Maria and Panis Angelicus by Cesar Franck at the other.

MAGGIE McDONALD is to be a soloist in a Christmas concert at the Swiss Church in Covent Garden featuring the City of London Choir on 9th December at 6pm.

LAURA CARROLL (10) is to star in Panto Pandamonium at the Barbara Speake Stage School on 7th December.

CHRISTMAS CHORAL CONCERTS

SARAH BRADLEY has successfully re-auditioned for the Bach Choir and along with at least six other pupils she will be singing in the Christmas Carol Concerts on 14th/15th December in Cadogan Hall. www.thebachchoir.org.uk

JENNY STURT sings with the Parliament Choir - next concert 27th November in the Cadogan Hall. A Christmas Mass by Czech composer Ryber and Handel's Dettingen - Te Deum. Tickets 020 7730 4500.

This autumn VIVIEN TURNER returned to her home in South Africa and successfully auditioned for the Cape Town Philharmonic Chorus and will be singing in their Christmas concert before returning to London where she sings in the St John's Wood Chamber Choir.

Catharine teaches a number of singers in the London Orpheus Choir whose Phab Christmas Charity Concert will be at St James's Church Piccadilly on Thursday 13th December at 7pm London Orpheus Choir

JOANNA CORDNER has resumed her singing lessons after a year's study in Paris as part of her degree course at UCL. Both Joanna and LYNDA WRIGHT will be singing in a Christmas Concert with the Chapel Choir of Guy's and St. Thomas's Hospital on 19th December in the Chapel at 3pm.

UGOCHI ONWUANIBE (11) a pupil at the North London Collegiate School will be singing in their Festive concert on 10th December - music includes Britten's, Ballulalow, 2 carols in French, Kalinka in Russian and Jingle Bell Rock!

MOVING ON!

ANDRE REFIG, now on the Music Theatre post-graduate course at the Royal Academy of Music will take part in the Christmas concert on 1st December.(no tickets available). www.ram.ac.uk

REID JULY (11) is in her first term at the Chiswick Arts Educational Centre where she was highly commended for singing and speech at her audition in the summer.

2008

In the new year Catharine Robinson will be planning a Master Class for new pupils and another for singers particularly interested in singing English Song of the 20th Century.

Catharine's last teaching day before Christmas will be Saturday 23rd December, resuming again on Saturday 5th January.
