Newsletter Spring 2006Catharine’s pupils are preparing for solo engagements, choral concerts and musicals; auditions for schools, colleges and choirs; and a brand new album release on CD. As well as encouraging her pupils to pursue their own particular interests, Catharine also plans a number of events throughout the year.
There will be a Master Class and informal concert for new pupils in the summer. Elizabeth Jenkin regularly sings at weddings. In February she sang Schubert’s Ave Maria and Mozart’s Alleluia K165 at Berkeley Castle. Enquiries: 020 8995 0195. Philip Stear is the latest of Catharine’s pupils to join the London Orpheus Choir. As a singing teacher recommended by the Bach Choir, Catharine helps members keep in top form for their busy schedule of concerts. On 25th February Alexander Jan was invited to join Thurrock Choral Society to sing a small part in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Trial by Jury. Fiona Rule has just made a demo CD of cabaret songs and jazz standards. Enquiries: 020 7286 5104 Felix Farlow (11) has won a place at the Chiswick Educational Arts Centre. He was commended at his audition for his singing and dancing. Anna Winstone (10) is to appear in her school talent show at the end of term. Matthew Rhodes is working on a long-term project to give a solo recital featuring Schubert lieder.
