About the authors
Susannah Ross is an independent broadcasting consultant and trainer. She has run training projects for BBC World Service Training in Thailand, Poland and India and her work has also taken her to Bahrain and Russia. She worked with Hazel Slavin on a three-year project in India to train radio and television producers to make educational programmes on sex and reproductive health. Before going into training, she was a radio and television journalist with BBC World Service for 20 years.
Hazel Slavin is a health promotion and communications specialist with particular expertise in sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS. She was Principal Lecturer in Health Promotion at South Bank University in London for fourteen years and has worked on long-term projects in India, Russia and Pakistan as well as working in numerous African and Asian countries including Yemen. She has lectured and run seminars in Latvia, Russia and Hong Kong and, with Susannah Ross, worked on an innovative project for BBC World Service Training in India.
