St Stephen's celebrated its fifth Festival of Arts and Faith in May/June 2007
Visitors were able to find something for all tastes and ages, music, painting, architecture, worship and fun.
As always we took the opportuity of featuring a number of young performers. Our continuing partnership with the Royal College of Music brought us a varied and exciting lunch time recital series. Our big evening performances in this year's festival were by the early music a capella
singing group, Stile Antico and by the University of London Symphony Orchestra.
The visual arts were represented by artists, Janet Treloar, Francis Hoyland and Sam Hacking together with 'The Art Barn'.
The Festival Mass is always an important part of the week and a special occasion of worship. Once again this year we featured a new work commissioned by the Festival, an anthem by Graham Ross.
In addition to the lunch-time recitals, the regular daily round will included times of prayer and worship, and the ‘Rush Hour’ street café offered tea, coffee and juice to passers-by. The church building is always worth a visit and during Festival week we arranged extended hours of opening.
