Juliet Harmer paints flowers and landscapes and draws much of her inspiration from Gloucestershire and Cornwall. Her work has been described as having 'an almost melodic simplicity'.
"Sometimes I see something so unexpectedly beautiful that I find myself catching my breath and smiling. However often I have seen the new moon, deer in snow, or the blackthorn blossom, I am always taken by surprise.
In Nature, the most precious things are those that have gone almost before you have noticed them. Perhaps also, I paint to compensate for a feeling of loss - the loss of innocence, of childhood, and the increasing loss of our beautiful English countryside."
