Who we are

Susannah Ross

Susannah is the author of Writing for the Web (Chambers Desktop Guides) and ran courses in web writing for the BBC and other clients for 20 years. She also worked with the commercial writing company Clarity, running training courses and looking after the website. Susannah was a BBC journalist for 20 years and, as Deputy Editor of World Service News, was responsible for recruiting and training journalists. She does most of the editorial work in Select Ideas.

Julia Swann

Julia ran a computer consultancy, Second Power, which specialised in computer training. She advised clients how to create presentations, use images and build databases. She spent ten years as IT Manager at a research consultancy in Covent Garden, managing the firm’s IT and supporting and training some forty staff. She has more than thirty years’ experience with computers, has done research into the adoption and impact of IT in the UK office sector and is a qualified teacher. She is responsible for the technical side of Select Ideas.
