Sailing and boating

Bishops Quay is ideal for boating and swimming.

Unlimited use of a sturdy wooden rowing boat is yours while you stay here. It is nine foot in length and suitable for up to four people.

We can also offer you a Challenger sailing dinghy (like a Mirror) which is ten foot long, and a fibreglass motor/rowing boat that is eleven foot with a 6 horsepower outboard. We make a small charge towards keeping these in good order.

You are welcome to bring your own boat here with you. It could be launched from our slipway here and have a mooring in the channel. Please discuss this with us before your arrival to check that we can accommodate your boat.

Swimming is possible at Bishops Quay: the end of the jetty is a good place to jump into the deep water channel that passes it. However, we must stress that all boating and swimming at Bishops Quay is at your own risk.
